Useful PDF tools with less data exposure
FreePDF Tools is a collection of small browser utilities for everyday document tasks. The project is built around local processing: supported document operations happen on your device instead of sending document files to our server.
Why browser-local processing?
A conventional online converter uploads a file, processes it on a remote server, stores a result for some period and gives you a download. That model is convenient for heavy workloads, but it also means the document must leave your device. For common tasks such as merging, splitting, rotating, image conversion and visible text watermarking, modern browsers can do the work themselves.
FreePDF Tools uses open-source browser libraries to manipulate PDF data. The selected document bytes remain in browser memory while you work. We do not offer document accounts, cloud storage or a server-side conversion queue.
What the site currently supports
- Merge multiple PDFs and control their order.
- Extract a page range or split every PDF page.
- Rotate all pages or a chosen page range.
- Convert JPG and PNG images into a PDF.
- Render PDF pages to JPG or PNG images.
- Add a visible text watermark to every PDF page.
What we do not promise
This site does not currently provide OCR, PDF-to-Word conversion, Office-to-PDF conversion, strong document compression, digital signatures, password removal or cloud document storage. Those tasks need different processing and should not be implied by a tool that cannot perform them reliably.
How the PDF guides are maintained
FreePDF Tools writes and reviews its PDF guides against the behaviour of the tools available on this site. Instructions describe supported workflows, practical limitations and common failure cases rather than promising features the browser tools do not provide. A guide's updated date changes when its instructions or technical details are reviewed.
Keeping the service sustainable
The core PDF tools are intended to remain free to use. The site may use advertising to fund hosting, maintenance and new educational content. Advertising is kept separate from document processing; enabling ads does not change the browser-local PDF architecture. See the Privacy Policy for details about third-party advertising technologies.
