Word 97–2003 to PDF: legacy DOC conversion
Archives often contain .doc files from Microsoft Word 97–2003. They are still useful documents, but their binary format needs different parsing from modern DOCX files.

Use the correct file type
Select the original .doc file. Renaming a DOC file to .docx does not convert its internal format and can make the file harder to diagnose.
Check legacy layout
Review page breaks, tables, fonts, lists and embedded objects in the generated PDF. Old documents may rely on layout behaviour that modern software represents differently.
Keep the source
Conversion creates a new output. Preserve the original legacy document when it has archival or evidentiary value.
Browser-local processing
The supported converter uses a self-hosted parser and does not need to upload the selected document to an application conversion server.
