PDF page size: choose A4, Letter or image-sized pages
Page size is a document-layout decision, not just a visual setting. The right choice depends on whether the resulting PDF will be printed, submitted, displayed or preserved as an image document.

A4
A4 is common in many countries and works well for reports, forms, letters and print-oriented submissions. It provides a predictable page boundary for office documents.
US Letter
Letter is common in the United States and some other workflows. Use it when the receiving system or source document expects the Letter page dimensions.
Image-sized pages
An image-sized page can avoid excessive empty margins around a photo or screenshot. It is often useful for image-first documents that will be viewed on screen rather than printed.
Verify the destination
Some submission systems enforce maximum dimensions or file sizes. Check the destination requirements before choosing a non-standard page size.
