Adobe Acrobat Online alternative: compare processing models
An Adobe Acrobat online workflow and a browser-local PDF tool solve similar document problems but use different processing models. The useful comparison is not a universal winner; it is which model matches the document and workflow you need.

How Adobe's online model works
Adobe's current Acrobat online FAQ says its online services upload files to Adobe cloud storage. If you do not sign in to save or share a file, Adobe says it deletes the server copy after a short period. Adobe also documents security controls for data in transit and stored files.
How FreePDF Tools differs
The supported FreePDF Tools document-processing workflows are designed to read selected files in the browser and create the result locally. That avoids intentionally sending the selected document bytes to an application conversion server for those workflows.
Capability is part of the comparison
Adobe's current online tools cover a broad set of conversion targets including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and image formats. FreePDF Tools currently focuses on a smaller browser-local PDF and document set, including PDF to Word, Word/document to PDF, OCR, image conversion and core PDF operations.
Which model fits the task?
Cloud processing can be useful when you need a large hosted feature set, collaboration or cross-device storage. Browser-local processing can be useful when avoiding document upload is more important. For any sensitive document, read the provider's current privacy and retention terms before processing it.
